Dr Jason McClure, MB ChB, MRCP (UK), FRCA (UK), FCICM
is Deputy Director, Intensive Care, Head of General ICU and clinical lead for
ICU Burns.
Jason has a strong interest in analgesia and sedation, respiratory failure,
ventilation, HFOV and ECMO.
Current projects include development of a telemedicine model for ICU, review
and update of sedation practice and burns analgesia. He is the course director
for ALS and the HEaRT Course, and also teaches on other courses including
ECMO, BASIC, Bronchoscopy, Nutrition & CRM.
His other interests include simulation and the use of social media and modern
technology in medicine.
Dr Owen Roodenburg, MBBS (hons) FRACP FCICM
is Deputy Director of Intensive Care and Head of Trauma ICU at The Alfred
Hospital, Melbourne. He is the Supervisor of Training for the College of
Intensive Care Medicine at The Alfred, and is also responsible for Registrar
recruitment. He is also an examiner for the CICM. Owen is interested in high
quality medical education and training at all levels within and outside of The
Alfred Intensive Care. Owen teaches on courses including Renal Replacement
Therapy, Bronchoscopy, Trauma, EMST, ALS, Nutrition, CICM exam
preparation, and Consultant Intensivist Transitioning.
In 2011, he received his Professional Certificate in Health Systems
Management from Melbourne University.
Dr Deirdre Murphy, MB BCh BAO, MRCPI, FCARCSI, FCICM,
PGDipECho (UniMelb), DDU (Critical Care)
is a Deputy Director, Intensive Care and Head of cardio-thoracic ICU at The
Alfred Hospital with particular interest in echocardiography and cardiac
intensive care especially mechanical circulatory support including ECMO and
ventricular assist devices. Deirdre originally trained in Ireland with
postgraduate training in general medicine and anaesthesia prior to embarking
on her intensive care career in Australia in 1999. She has been an Intensivist
at The Alfred since 2003. Deirdre has been involved in many of the ECMO
retrievals with the Alfred ICU team.
In 2012, she was awarded the Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (Critical Care)
from the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM)
