Dr Irma Bilgrami, MBChB, FCICM, PGDipEcho
Irma is an Intensive Care Specialist at the Alfred Hospital. She moved to
Melbourne after completing her basic medical training at the University of
Otago. Her physician and intensive care training has involved experience not
only in Victoria but also Darwin and North Queensland.
Her interests lie in echocardiography and clinical education. She has an active
role in the Alfred education programme, is the organiser of the BASIC
programme and is also an ALS instructor.
Irma sits on the organising committees for the Crisis Resource Management
(CRM) and the Consultant in Transition (CIT) courses. She is also currently
pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Teaching (University of Melbourne).
Dr. Paul Nixon, MBBS (Hons), FCICM
Paul is an intensivist at The Alfred Hospital. His interests include ventilation,
echocardiography and critical care ultrasound, circulatory support and medical
education. He is undertaking study at Monash University in health professional
education and is part of the education faculty on a number of the Alfred postgraduate
courses. He is currently completing his diploma of diagnostic
ultrasound in critical care and is part of the Alfred ICU echocardiography
service. Paul completed a fellowship in paediatric intensive care at The Royal
Children's Hospital in Melbourne and is a member of the Alfred Health
paediatric steering commitee.
Dr Richard Lin, MBBS, FACEM, FCICM, PGDipCU
Richard is a consultant Intensivist and Emergency Physician at the Alfred
Hospital. He was awarded the Post Graduate Diploma of Clinical Ultrasound
and is a member of the Alfred ICU echocardiography service. He is also an
Advanced Life Support instructor and is on the teaching faculty of several Alfred
ICU postgraduate courses. His special interests include echocardiography,
critical care ultrasound, resuscitation and medical education.
Dr Josh Ihle, B Med, FCICM, PGDipECHO
Josh completed his physician training at the Alfred prior to undertaking his
intensive care training, which concluded with an echocardiography fellowship at
the Alfred. He has a keen interest in cardiothoracic intensive care, particularly
ECMO and echocardiography. He has completed his Post Graduate Diploma of
Echocardiography and is currently undertaking his Diploma of Diagnostic
Ultrasound. His other interests include organ donation, and currently is a
member of the organ and tissue donation hospital team. He is also a member
of the teaching faculty on several of the Alfred ICU courses, with a particular
focus on echocardiography and ALS.
