Dr Irma Bilgrami, <strong>MB</strong>ChB, <strong>FCICM</strong>, PG<strong>Dip</strong>Echo<br />

Irma <strong>is</strong> an Intensive Care Special<strong>is</strong>t at <strong>the</strong> Alfred Hospital. She moved to<br />

Melbourne after completing her basic medical training at <strong>the</strong> University of<br />

Otago. Her physician and intensive care training has involved experience not<br />

only in Victoria but also Darwin and North Queensland.<br />

Her interests lie in echocardiography and clinical education. She has an active<br />

role in <strong>the</strong> Alfred education programme, <strong>is</strong> <strong>the</strong> organ<strong>is</strong>er of <strong>the</strong> BASIC<br />

programme and <strong>is</strong> also an ALS instructor.<br />

Irma sits on <strong>the</strong> organ<strong>is</strong>ing committees for <strong>the</strong> Cr<strong>is</strong><strong>is</strong> Resource Management<br />

(CRM) and <strong>the</strong> Consultant in Transition (CIT) courses. She <strong>is</strong> also currently<br />

pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Teaching (University of Melbourne).<br />

Dr. Paul Nixon, <strong>MB</strong><strong>BS</strong> (Hons), <strong>FCICM</strong><br />

Paul <strong>is</strong> an intensiv<strong>is</strong>t at The Alfred Hospital. H<strong>is</strong> interests include ventilation,<br />

echocardiography and critical care ultrasound, circulatory support and medical<br />

education. He <strong>is</strong> undertaking study at Monash University in health professional<br />

education and <strong>is</strong> part of <strong>the</strong> education faculty on a number of <strong>the</strong> Alfred postgraduate<br />

courses. He <strong>is</strong> currently completing h<strong>is</strong> diploma of diagnostic<br />

ultrasound in critical care and <strong>is</strong> part of <strong>the</strong> Alfred ICU echocardiography<br />

service. Paul completed a fellowship in paediatric intensive care at The Royal<br />

Children's Hospital in Melbourne and <strong>is</strong> a member of <strong>the</strong> Alfred Health<br />

paediatric steering commitee.<br />

Dr Richard Lin, <strong>MB</strong><strong>BS</strong>, FACEM, <strong>FCICM</strong>, PG<strong>Dip</strong>CU<br />

Richard <strong>is</strong> a consultant Intensiv<strong>is</strong>t and Emergency Physician at <strong>the</strong> Alfred<br />

Hospital. He was awarded <strong>the</strong> Post Graduate <strong>Dip</strong>loma of Clinical Ultrasound<br />

and <strong>is</strong> a member of <strong>the</strong> Alfred ICU echocardiography service. He <strong>is</strong> also an<br />

Advanced Life Support instructor and <strong>is</strong> on <strong>the</strong> teaching faculty of several Alfred<br />

ICU postgraduate courses. H<strong>is</strong> special interests include echocardiography,<br />

critical care ultrasound, resuscitation and medical education.<br />

Dr Josh Ihle, B Med, <strong>FCICM</strong>, PG<strong>Dip</strong>ECHO<br />

Josh completed h<strong>is</strong> physician training at <strong>the</strong> Alfred prior to undertaking h<strong>is</strong><br />

intensive care training, which concluded with an echocardiography fellowship at<br />

<strong>the</strong> Alfred. He has a keen interest in cardiothoracic intensive care, particularly<br />

ECMO and echocardiography. He has completed h<strong>is</strong> Post Graduate <strong>Dip</strong>loma of<br />

Echocardiography and <strong>is</strong> currently undertaking h<strong>is</strong> <strong>Dip</strong>loma of Diagnostic<br />

Ultrasound. H<strong>is</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r interests include organ donation, and currently <strong>is</strong> a<br />

member of <strong>the</strong> organ and t<strong>is</strong>sue donation hospital team. He <strong>is</strong> also a member<br />

of <strong>the</strong> teaching faculty on several of <strong>the</strong> Alfred ICU courses, with a particular<br />

focus on echocardiography and ALS.
