DCO20105 Data Structures and Algorithms
The aims of this course are to develop students an appreciation of the dependency of
execution time, bandwidth and memory requirements on the choice of data structures
and algorithms employed; the ability to reason informally about an algorithm, data
structure correctness, efficiency and complexity and an aptitude for the intelligent
selection of algorithms, representations, and for the intelligent use of an object-oriented
language and its library.
DCO20302 Router Technology
This course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to configure,
implement and maintain the internetworking devices (routers) in the enterprise network
environment. It enables students to understand routed and routing protocols and
manage a router network.
DCO20306 System Administration
This course aims to acquire students with basic knowledge on system administration
duties using different operating systems. It enables students to install, support and
maintain servers or other computer systems and perform administrator tasks such as
managing user accounts, making backups, writing scripts and other mission critical tasks
of system administrators.
DCO20307 Network Administration
This course aims to provide students with the fundamental knowledge needed to design,
implement, and administer Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs).
It introduces students to intermediate switching concepts and enables students to
demonstrate network troubleshooting skills.
DCO20401 Database Systems and Design
The aims of this course are to teach students basic concepts about database and
database systems; different database models; basic theories about database design and
implementation; and the concept of transaction and concurrency control. On completion
of this course, students should be able to write basic Data Definition Language and Data
Manipulation Language; design a database based on database design methodologies;
and implement a basic database system which is accessible through the Internet.
