6.4.1 Mountain Road & Tenth Line
This intersection, already identified for temporary signals by the Town, has already been analyzed
under signalization for the 2020 and 2030 total conditions. The results are presented again in Table
41 alongside the results of the roundabout analysis. The initial analysis considers single lanes for all
approaches and, hence, a single lane roundabout.
The roundabout and signalized scenarios provide similar operating conditions under both horizon
years, with poor conditions (level of service F) occurring in 2030 given the projected total traffic
volumes. The poor operating conditions are a result of the high volume of traffic and the single lane
approaches. It is noted that in considering signalization and 2030 total volumes, the addition of
exclusive westbound and eastbound left turn lanes and an exclusive northbound right turn lane are
recommended to accommodate the 2030 total volumes
