13 INCREASING YOUR JOB LEVELS While playing the game, you will meet various NPC characters who have certain specializations represented by Job levels. Some of them are good fighters, other are skilled archers or mages. Vivien can learn 3 Jobs: Fighter, Mage and Alchemist. Job levels determine what arms, armors and equipment you can use. New job levels can be learned from masters in a particular job for a certain fee. You can meet Master Pribina in Slawingrad, who can increase your fighter level. Master Illuminor in the Elven city of Thelminadris can increase your mage level; and Herbalist Odrona in Woda Gbely can teach you alchemy - if you help her sister Larrisa. NOTE: The total strength of your characters is highly influenced by weapons, armors, magical artefacts and other equipment they use. You can learn more about equipment in chapter Arms & Equipment. 14 FIGHTING SKILLS Your characters will gain new types of attacks and skills on certain levels depending on their specialization. Check the tables below: Fighter Job: Level 1 Level 2 Level 4 Level 6 Level 8 Level 10 Level 12 Level 14 Level 16 Slash Bleeding attack Melee Stun Provoke Backstab Grand Melee Berserk Kamikaze Archer Job Level 1 Level 2 Level 8 Single shot Double shot Triple shot NOTE: The strategy of archers depends also on various types of arrows with different effects which substitute skills of fighter job (e.g. shattering arrows – bleeding effect, Stun arrows – stun effect) Mage Job Mages’ strategy fully depends on the choice of various spells which require certain amount of action points and mana points. COMBAT SYSTEM When you wander through the country and encounter an enemy, the screen will switch to the Combat Mode with turn-based combat system. We chose this system because you can control only 1 person in real time and we wanted to provide you space to use all possibilities of each person. During the combat mode, you will work with combat menu which offers you several types of actions: Attack, Magic, Inventory, Formation, Defend and Run Away. Proper and creative combinations of these options opens many possibilities and strategies which you can use and they often determine the outcome of the battle.
