Sheiks
Greetings
from the Sheiks
2013 is off to
a great start with
the completion
of the 90th
addition of the
Shrine Circus.
is event like
Wally Larsen
none other
affords a great
chance to renew and foster new friendships
as we travel the trail of this brotherhood.
Each event of the year gives our
members a chance to join together as a
Sheik while serving in some way where
needed. No event pulls the Sheiks
together more than the Osman Circus, as
was witnessed again before, during and
after our 90th Osman Shrine Circus.
• Monday, setup day, found the Sheiks
ready to get things started by assembling
both Sheik booths while sharing stories
of circuses past.
• Wednesday, again, found a willing
group of Sheiks ready to stock and
prepare our booths with circus treasures
that we knew would bring smiles to the
faces of so many kids during circus
week.
• ursday thru Sunday, circus days,
brought the Sheiks together as always,
St. Paul Zagalas
in strong numbers, with the
help of several of our Ladies
and friends. Circus week
brings our unit together more
than any other event of the
year. Sheiks have always
answered the call when it
comes to our circus.
• Sunday night, teardown
night, found no shortage of
willing Sheiks to finish the
task of bringing the 90th
Osman Circus to its close.
Sheiks, like all the other
Shriners, in our many clubs and
units, work before, during and
after our circus because it is who
they are. We know the
importance of our circus and
what it brings to our great
brotherhood.
Special thanks! e Osman
Sheiks have, as many say,
“manned” their booths for many
years. While it is true that we
have answered the call of our
Temple to work the circus we know that
without the help of our families and friends
our task would be overwhelming. e
Sheiks have had several SUPER GALS
work the circus for Osman as far back as I
can remember. Some are veterans and
Catherine Perron, Steve Hoyer and Sandy Perron. A
big THANK YOU to the super gals who work with the
Sheiks circus after circus.
Pam and Jim Thoreson
others new to circus week. We, the Sheiks
of Osman, thank the following for their
commitment to the Sheiks and Osman:
Dee Hoyer, Judy Carr, Clare Grittner,
Catherine Perron, Sandy Perron, Pam
oreson, and Lindsey Guetter.
