VCAL Students Feed the Homeless<br />

Over the past two weeks our year 11<br />
and 12 VCAL students have been<br />
doing their bit for the disadvantaged<br />
community of Melbourne by working<br />
in the Fareshare Kitchens in South<br />
Melbourne.<br />
I am extremely proud of the work<br />
ethic, respect and willingness to help<br />
others demonstrated by our VCAL<br />
students when working in the kitchens,<br />
and although they were not<br />
personally thanked by those receiving<br />
the meals they cooked I know they<br />
enjoyed the experience of<br />
volunteering their time to help people<br />
in need.<br />
Fareshare is a non profit organisation<br />
who works to rescue unwanted food<br />
from supermarkets and restaurants in<br />
order to turn it into nutritious home<br />
cooked meals for people in need.<br />
<strong>The</strong> VCAL students did an amazing job<br />
when working in the kitchens and<br />
have helped to cook and package over<br />
700 meals to be distributed amongst<br />
Melbourne's homeless and<br />
disadvantaged citizens.
