Praise & Prayer Letter (Special Edition: A trip to Nepal 2011)
The Ministry
Our Vision: To participate in the Great Commission by partnering with local churches and mission
organisations to evangelise and make disciples of all nations. (Mark 16:15)
Our Mission: We are committed to partnering with churches and Christian organisations in end-time harvest
evangelism and discipleship by providing ICM Bible School In A Briefcase (BSIB) materials, training
seminars and hands-on mission field experiences through short-term missions. (Matt 28:19)
Dear Pastors/Prayer & Mission Partners/Friends,
We thank you for all your prayers and support rendered towards the ministry. Your prayers and support have
contributed much to all that have been carried out for the glory of God. We covet your continuous prayer
support for ICM.

in Kathmandu, both Bro Edwin Marsden, the
President of ICM and Bro Dorai Raju (ICM
Coordinator) were greeted by Ps Tika Ram
who started the ICM BSIB training in this
mountainous country.

Arriving at Panauti village, which
is about 40 minutes drive from
Kathmandu
Panauti Bijaya Church at Kathmandu, Nepal, where the
first ICM BSIB graduation took place on 28 th August 2011
The atmosphere was very tense with policemen everywhere in
town because of the country’s recent political instability.
The team had to leave Kathmandu early in the morning for the
graduation because of an expected curfew to be imposed.

The graduation started in the afternoon at
Panauti Bijaya Church. Bro Dorai presented
the vision of ICM while Bro Edwin gave a
powerful message on the call to ministry
and what it costs.
Then came the joyous moment when the 17
students proudly received their Certificate
of Completion after a nine-month ICM BSIB
training course.
On the next day, the team headed to Pokhara to meet
seven local pastors at Plaza Annapurna Hotel.
It was also an emotional time at the
graduation when the local pastor of
the church, Ps Tamang, shared how
his wife passed away two weeks
earlier before the graduation, had
also finished the ICM BSIB
programme. All eyes were on him as
he lifted his wife’s certificate up to
show the guests.
Among these graduates, there
were three who had committed
themselves to serve the Lord in
full time. Praise the Lord!
Bro Edwin hands over some financial aid from Malaysian Christians to Ps Haron
Adrian on behalf of the flood victims at the foothills of Himalayas. Bro Edwin also
donated 300 bibles on behalf of ICM (Malaysia) to the Himalayan people.

The next morning, the team travelled to Lalitpur and was greeted
by Ps Haron Adrian. He heads the Himalayas Ministry in Nepal.
Ps Haron shared how God provided his need when someone gave
him ICM BSIB materials in China some eight years ago. He was
really excited knowing that it was difficult to get Christian teaching
materials in Hindi for the people of Nepal. He desires to see more
people being trained in the mountain region as they are always
neglected.

Bro Edwin and Bro Dorai shared about ICM to the pastors and they
all caught the vision with great enthusiasm!
Ps Bedu Lopchan who is a member of the Council of Churches in
Pokhara, had invited Bro Edwin to address about 40 churches
under their umbrella. This council is known as Pokhreli Christian
Community and it is recognised by the Nepali government. They
have networks all over Nepal.
Overwhelmed with the vision of ICM, Ps Bedu is organising a ICM
camp at the end of September with Ps Tika Ram. At this camp, ICM
BSIB programme will be taught in Hindi to the mountain folks of
Nepal.
The team meets another group of local pastors before departing to Kathmandu
in the late afternoon on 30 th August 2011.

In Lalitpur, Ps Haron took us to one of his local village church
where he had arranged some pastors to attend the meeting.
There were about 60 people who attended the meeting. It was hot in
the church and there was only one fan. Seeing the need, Bro Edwin
donated three fans to the church.

All in all, God’s mighty favour is upon ICM over Nepal!
We went to Nepal to start two training centres but we
returned with six training centres ready to start!
Once we finalise with the Council of Churches on our
next visit, I am sure ICM will be on its conquering path
to bring Christ to the nation of Nepal in a very big way.

be moved to contribute to help bring the Gospel to the
unreached people in Nepal. Praise the Lord!
