Personal Profile
I am responsible for policy issues relating to information technology,
competitiveness and innovation and in particular the e-skills strategy since 2007. I
was the 2002-2003 EU Fellow at the LBJ School of Public Affairs (University of
Texas). I played a leading role in the preparation of the e-learning initiative in
1998-2001. Before that I was in charge of multimedia research projects within the
European Strategic Programme for Research in Information Technology (ESPRIT).
Prior to joining the European Commission in 1994, I held marketing and
management positions in the IT industry. I started my career at IBM in 1985.
I am a French national and hold master and further degrees in business
administration, accounting, international trade and strategic relations from
Marseilles’ Business School (Euromed), INTEC, CECE and CERIS. I attended
executive courses on advanced marketing management; strategic R&D
management and IT value management from HEC-ISA, INSEAD and the Innovation
Value Institute.
