Personal Profile
Ingvar Sjöberg has been working as a visual artist for the last 30 years. He has a
special interest in how art can have a transformative impact on societal
development at large. After have been working as a professor in Fine Arts at the
University of Gothenburg and as a research leader at the Interactive Institute he
now has the possession as Artistic Director at Stockholm University, Department
of Computer and systems sciences, DSV in Kista. Ingvar is the Artistic Director of
DAC, Digital Art Center.
DAC is Stockholm university, DSV, public outreach environment, representing DSV
Profile areas, where researchers, entrepreneurs, artists, students and the public can
meet, learn and develop through exhibitions, seminars and programs in the fields of
ICT, science and art. By opening a new interface between technology companies
and creative industries, cross-fertilization between the IT industry working models,
new research and art, DAC lead to new ways to think innovatively and helps to
strengthen Sweden's international competitiveness. Ingvar stresses the idea that
visibility is an important aspect of the innovation process.
