Prohibitions Invisible ink, codes, cyphers, symbols or other types of secret
correspondence, shorthand notes; chicken and duck eggs (fresh or salted);
onions; dried garlic, fresh and dried vegetables, including bamboo shoots
and mushrooms of all kinds, watermelon seeds, ground nuts, hazel nuts,
sesame, tubers, tomato, salted apricots, oranges, lemon vinegar, sugar
cane molasses, golden syrup, honey and bees, pure or mixed coffee; betel
nuts, cinnamon of all kinds, straw and grass for stuffing; dye tubers, brooms
of all kinds; bamboo, rattan; beeswax; seeds for dyeing; plant fibres; cotton
and coverlets; radio transmitters and receiver and radio set accessories of
any kind; unused postage stamps. Products made from non-Vietnamese
tobacco; used clothing; blankets, mosquito nets and shoes, sealed tinned
foodstuffs. Coins, bank-notes, currency or securities of any kind payable to
bearer, travellers' cheques, platinum, gold or silver whether manufactured or
not, precious stones, jewels or valuable articles. Firearms, ammunitions and
accessories.
Restrictions
Restrictions apply to the importation of tea (restricted to 500 g); cooked fat,
dried and salted meat, dried fish and cuttlefish (restricted to 1.000 g each).
Used bed linen accompanied by a disinfection certificate duly attested by the
Health Authorities of the country of origin. Various plants and plant products
liable to carry parasitic diseases; postage stamps sent to book and
newspaper import and export bodies or other competent bodies; all kinds of
children's toys subject to the authorisation of the Ministry of Culture of the
Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Merchandise of commercial value sent for
trade.
