Restrictions<br />

Senders should ascertain import requirements from Ukraine authorities<br />

before posting the following; Bees, leeches and silkworms; Raw products of<br />

animal origin; Dairy and fish products; Seeds, plants and parts of plants;<br />

Fruit and vegetables; Hunting weapons.<br />

Importation of agricultural products weighing over 5 kg must be<br />

accompanied by a quality certificate.<br />

Importation into Ukraine of postal items containing funeral urns is upon<br />

presentation of the following documents to Ukraine’s Customs authorities:<br />

- death certificate or any other document confirming death, issued by a<br />

competent body;<br />

- certificate declaring that the urn does not contain other articles that may<br />

not be imported into Ukraine.<br />

The above documents must be certified by a consulate or Diplomatic<br />

service representing Ukraine.<br />

Customs Duty<br />

Inherited goods originating from abroad are allowed into Ukraine, free of<br />

Customs duty, if certificates are received from foreign consulates as regards<br />

the right of inheritance and the composition of the legacy. Documents issued<br />

by foreign authorities or public bodies should be stamped by a consul of<br />

Ukraine.<br />

Articles or parts of articles sent to Ukraine for repairs or replacement are<br />

admitted free of customs duty, if a written declaration from the sender is<br />

inserted in the parcel. International postal items (including EMS items), sent<br />

to Ukraine to natural persons and which contain goods to a total value not<br />

exceeding Euro200, are admitted free of Customs duties.<br />

Import Permits<br />

and Invoices<br />

Postal articles sent to state institutions and co-operatives, containing items<br />

of commercial value are admitted subject to an import permit issued by the<br />

Ministry for Foreign Trade of Ukraine. Invoices must accompany postal<br />

articles with a commercial value, which are delivered on presentation of the<br />

appropriate import permits and payment of customs duty.<br />

(1) Dutiable goods admitted in the letter post. (2) Insured letters, air and<br />

surface, limit $4,500. (3) Printed papers. (4) Small packets. (5) Registration.<br />

(6) Blind literature.<br />

Valued up to $700 - Green Label (CN22); valued over $700 - Parcel<br />

Despatch Note in addition to upper part of Green Label.<br />

Binoculars, charged butane gas lighters and refills (uncharged lighters are<br />

admitted); cultured, imitation, artificial and bleached pearls.<br />

Alcoholic drinks; items containing medicaments can be accepted only if prior<br />

authorization has been obtained. In addition, they must bear a C.1 label<br />

stating the nature of their contents.<br />

All commercial consignments whether by letter or parcel post must be<br />

accompanied by a certificate of the country or origin of the goods<br />

Non-acceptance on inquiries about ordinary letter-post items.
