COLLEGE: Left Maryland ranked 12th on the school’s record list in career sacks (15.5), 14th in<br />

career tackles for loss (24.0) and also totaled 219 tackles, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries<br />

and six interceptions as senior…started all 13 games and ranked fourth on the team with<br />

a career-high 77 tackles...logged a career-best four interceptions, which were the second-most in<br />

a season by a Maryland linebacker as junior…started all 12 games and ranked second on the<br />

team in tackles (68)...led the team in sacks (6.0) and tackles for loss (9.0) as<br />

sophomore…totaled 24 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1.5 tackles for loss, one interception and two fumble<br />

recoveries as freshman…was an honorable mention freshman All-America choice and<br />

Freshman All-ACC team selection by The Sporting News...ranked ninth on the team with 50 tackles<br />

and 15 special teams stops.<br />

PERSONAL: A native of Suitland, Md....attended Gwynn Park High School...played quarterback, tight end, linebacker<br />

and safety...finished his senior season with 118 tackles, including nine sacks, four interceptions (two returned for a touchdown)<br />

and seven fumble recoveries.<br />

COLLEGE: Competed in all 50 contests during his four-year career at Notre Dame and totaled<br />

112 tackles (49 solo), 11.0 tackles for loss, seven passes defensed, one forced fumble, three fumble<br />

recoveries, seven sacks and one interception as senior…posted a career-high 42 stops and<br />

added his first career forced fumble as junior…appeared in all 12 games and totaled 25 tackles,<br />

3.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and one pass defensed as sophomore…saw action in all 13<br />

contests and tallied 25 tackles and 4.0 tackles for loss...intercepted one pass and also recorded<br />

two sacks as freshman…appeared in 12 contests, starting in five...notched 20 tackles including<br />

two sacks, two tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and three passes defensed.<br />

PERSONAL: A native of Bunn, N.C....attended Bunn High School...rated as the 26th prep player<br />

nationally on ESPN’s 150 listing...first-team North Carolina Class 2A all-state pick as a defensive<br />

lineman by NCPreps.com...played both defensive end and outside linebacker as a senior...recorded 132 tackles,<br />

30 tackles for loss, 17 sacks, four interceptions and 12 forced fumbles.<br />

COLLEGE: Was a three-year starter at defensive tackle for the Nittany Lions and collected 113<br />

tackles, 29 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks as senior…was a second-team All-Big Ten selection and<br />

totaled48 tackles (17 solo), 8.5 tackles for loss, half a sack and one pass defensed as junior…an<br />

honorable-mention All-Big Ten selection...made 30 tackles with 8.0 tackles for loss, two sacks and<br />

a team-high three forced fumbles as sophomore played every game and helped PSU rank No.<br />

8 in the nation in rushing defense, allowing 93.2 yards per game...totaled 17 tackles, 2.5 tackles<br />

for loss and two sacks as freshman…played in every game following his redshirt season and was<br />

fourth on the squad with 10.0 tackles for loss...also logged 18 tackles, one sack and one forced<br />

fumble.<br />

PERSONAL: A native of Staten Island, N.Y....spent his prep years at Milford Academy...was<br />

named a PrepStar Magazine All-America selection at Milford Academy.<br />

28 CHAD SPANN RB 5-9 198 8/8/88 NORTHERN ILLINOIS<br />

PRO: Signed with <strong>Colts</strong> as FA on July 29, <strong>2011</strong>.<br />

COLLEGE: Finished with 536 career rushes for 2,916 yards and 49 touchdowns in his four-year<br />

career at Northern Illinois...also contributed with 23 receptions for 198 yards and one touchdown<br />

as senior…started all 14 games and led the MAC with 1,388 yards...also led the conference<br />

and tied for fourth nationally in scoring with 132 points en route to earning the Vern Smith<br />

Leadership Award as the MVP in the MAC as junior…earned first-team All-MAC accolades after<br />

rushing for 1,038 yards on 179 carries with 19 touchdowns as sophomore saw action in 13<br />

games and totaled 88 rushes for 429 yards and eight TDs as freshman…competed in 10 games<br />

and tallied 11 rushes for 61 yards.<br />

PERSONAL: A native of Indianapolis, Ind....attended North Central High School...was a firstteam<br />

all-state selection as a senior after garnering second-team honors as a junior...set school<br />

records with 1,935 yards and 22 touchdowns while averaging 8.8 yards per carry during senior year.<br />
