2010 with the club as wide receivers coach. Turner joined Indianapolis after serving
nine years in two tenures with Chicago. Turner served 2005-09 as offensive
coordinator after spending eight seasons (1997-2004) as head coach at Illinois. He
was Chicago's offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach from 1993-96. This
marks his 35th season in coaching.
In 2010, WR-Reggie Wayne (111-1,355, 6 TDs) produced his seventh consecutive
1,000+-yardage season, a third 100+-reception season and a reception seasonalbest
6 TDs) and rookie free agent Blair White (36-355, 5 TDs) played key roles. Wayne (787-10,748, 69 TDs)
moved past Raymond Berry into 2nd-place in Colts career touchdown receptions, and he became the 34th
NFL player with 10,000+ yards, the 11th to post consecutive 100+ seasons (the 7th to top 100 at least
three times). Wayne's 779 snares and 10,602 yards from Manning rank 2nd-most in NFL history for a
tandem (953-12,766, Manning-Harrison), and 67 scoring receptions from Manning rank the duo 4th in
NFL history. Collie amassed his totals in nine outings, while Garcon missed two games and White opened
four of 13 outings. The club tied the NFL record with a ninth straight playoff berth, and Wayne earned a
Pro Bowl bid. The corps allowed QB-Peyton Manning (450-679-4,700, 33 TDs/17 ints.) set club seasonal-bests
in completions, attempts and yards, while his completion total also set the NFL seasonal record.
Manning extended his own NFL records with his 13th consecutive 25+-TD season and an 11th 4,000+yardage
season.
In 2009, Chicago had the NFL's 23rd-ranked offense in total yardage, the 17th-ranked passing attack. QB-
Jay Cutler was 336-555-3,666, 27 TDs, setting club individual seasonal marks in completions and attempts,
while his yardage ranked second-best and touchdowns ranked third-best. Chicago had 3,473 net passing
yards, the third-best club seasonal total. The other bests of 3,362 (2007) and 3,743 (1995) came under
Turner's tenure. RB-Matt Forte (258-929, 4 TDs rushing/57-471 receiving, 1,400 scrimmages yards)
topped 900 rushing yards for the second consecutive season. Turner's offenses produced then four of the
in seven of nine seasons under Turner. The rushing attack produced 8,512 yards in Turner's last five seasons,
including the second- and third-best club totals (2,099, 2005; 1,918, 2006) in the last 19 seasons.
Chicago surpassed 4,600 net yards annually from 2006-09. In 2008, QB-Kyle Orton was 272-465-
Berrian (71-951, 4 TDs) was one of six players with scoring receptions. The 2006 Bears topped 30+ points
seven times, the best seasonal total since 1956, and produced 5,199 net yards. Grossman was 262-480-
3,193, 23 TDs, while RB-Thomas Jones was 296-1,210, 6 TDs rushing. The club's 38 offensive touchdowns
were the most since 44 in 1995 under Turner. The Bears were the only NFL team with six players scoring
5+ touchdowns, with the last time the club achieving that mark being 1948. Chicago was 13-3 in winning
the NFC North and earning home-field advantage. The Bears bested Seattle (27-24) and New Orleans
(39-14), before falling in Super Bow XLI to Indianapolis. In 2005, the club rushed for 2,099 yards, the first
2,000+ season by Chicago since 1990. Chicago ranked 8th in rushing offense (131.2), topped 100+
