Introduction
Giriþ
Acetabular Cup are placed in degenerated anatomical acetabulum and requires
cement for fixation. Provided with radiopaque wire for postoperatory visualisation. The
Cemented Cup has a chamfered rim along the inner circumference to allow a greater
range of motion. The standard 50 mm acetabular cup meets the anatomical requirements
of major patients, while the 44 mm cup is used if the ilium is narrow in cases of high
dislocation with migration of the acetabulum. Two larger sizes of acetabular cups, 56,
58 mm have been added to the range to meet special requirements
of large boned patients.
Acetabular Kap bozulmuþ acetabuluma yerleþtirilen ve fiksasyonunda sement
kullanýlan bir implanttýr. Acetabular kap, ýþýnlarý geçirmeyen tellerle operasyon sonrasý
görüntüleme için uygun hale getirilmiþtir. Kabýn iç boþluðunun çevresi geniþ bir hareket
kabiliyetine izin vermek için pahlý bir yapýya sahiptir. Standart olan 50 mm acetabular kap
hastalarýn büyük bir çoðunluðunun ihtiyaçlarýna cevap verir, bununla beraber ilium
daralmasýnýn görüldüðü hastalarda 44 mm’lik kap kullanýlýr. Uzun kemik yapýsýna sahip olan
hastalarda ihtiyaca cevap verebilmesi için 56 ve 58 mm’lik iki adet büyük çaplý acetabular
kap ürünlerimiz arasýnda bulunmaktadýr.
Particular attention is paid to the precision machining and surface
finish of the acetabular cup, so that, when combined with femoral component, and
exceptionally stable total hip replacement is achieved with
minimal risk of dislocation and minimum wear rate on the acetabular component.
Acetabular kabýn mekanik iþlemesindeki hassasiyete ve yüzeyinin pürüzsüz olmasýna
özel bir ihtimam gösterilmiþtir. Bundan dolayý acetabular kap femoral parçayla birleþtirildiðinde
son derece dayanýklý bir total kalça yenilemesi ortaya çýkar. Ortaya çýkan bu durum çýkýk
riskini ve acetabular parçanýn aþýnma oranýný minimize eder.

PE-UHMW crosslinked material meets ASTM F 648 and ISO 5834-1/2 standards.
Selected for its, high degree of purity, good biotolerance, good mechanical performance
and friction properties.

özelliðinden dolayý ASTM F 648 ve ISO 5834-1/2 standartlarýna uygun PE-UHMW çapraz
baðlý malzeme seçilerek üretilmiþtir.
Please Note : This document is intended as a guide for the surgeon only. There are multiple
techniques for the insertion of Acetabular Cup Cemented and, as with any surgical
procedure, a surgeon should be thoroughly trained and beware that this procedure is
appropriate for the patient before proceeding.

Acetabulumun Oyulmasý
After the resection of femoral head and neck, the acetabulum is exposed.
Femoral kafa ve boynun kesilip çýkarýlmasýndan sonra acetabulum ortaya çýkar.
Using motorised accessories with Acetabular Reamers (Ref:10610021004-12) and
Acetabular Reamer Shaft (Ref:10610021101), the cartilage is first removed from the
acetabulum which is then gradually deepened and widened.

purchase.

Select the Cemented Cup outside diameter that matches the size of the last
acetabular reamer used.

Cup Insertion

Prior to inserting the implant, lavage and dry the acetabulum. Mix bone cement
and pack it into the created keyholes first. Then pack cement into acetabulum.

Accordingly, there are no holes in the rim of the Cemented Cup for attachment
to a cup introducer handle so the cup has to be inserted by hand into the acetabulum.

Aligning the Cemented Cup

It is generally accepted that an abduction angle of 40 to 45 degrees in conjuction
with an anteversion angle of 10 to 15 degrees is preferred when aligning most acetabular
cups. The same angles are also recommended for the alignment of the acetabular reamer
handle as described in Acetabular reaming. Many experienced surgeons prefer to eyeball
these angles but a well proven visual aid to achieve these angles is the Positioning
Guide (10602180009).
The one short Positioning Bar (10602180008) are attached to the screw-hole on
either side of the Positioning Guide which leaves them inclined at 12 degrees from the
vertical axis to the cup impactor handle. The positioning guide already has two permanently
fixed short rods which are both always at a 40 degree angle to the horizontal axis (Or
shaft) of the cup impactor handle. When using an Anterolateral Approach with the patient
supine on the operating table it is usual for the letter 'L' to be uppermost for a procedure
on a left hip and the letter 'R' to be uppermost for a procedure on a right hip. The positioning
guide should now be held tightly in place by the grip of the handle but it should still be
possible to rotate the positioning gauge around the grip of the handle until the correct
letter is showing uppermost. With the positioning gauge in the correct position the surgeon
can now determine the preferred alignment of the handle which obviously always depends
on the surgical approach and the position of the patient on the operating table.
Genellikle acetabular kap’ýn hizalanmasýnda, abduction açýsýnýn 40-45 derecelerde,
anteversion açýsýnýn ise 10-15 derecelerde olmasý istenir. Bu açýlar ayný zamanda acetabular
oymada tarif edilen acetabular oyucu tutacaðýnýn hizalanmasýnda da geçerlidir. Deneyimli
cerrahlarýn bir çoðu bu açýlarý dikkatlice incelemeyi tercih eder ve bu açýlara ulaþmak için
pozisyon verdiriciyi (Ref:10602180009) kullanýr.
Pozisyon verdiricinin her iki tarafýnda pozisyonlama çubuðunun (Ref:10602180008)
takýlabileceði yuvalar bulunmaktadýr. Pozisyon verdirici, Kap Impactorünün düþey ekseniyle
12 derece açý yapar. Pozisyon verdirici, impactor tutacaðýnýn yatay ekseninde 40 derece
açýyla bulunan, kalýcý olarak sabitlenmiþ 2 adet kýsa çubuða sahiptir. Anterolateral yaklaþýmda
hasta oprerasyon masasýnda sýrtüstü yatarken, sol kalça iþlemi için “L” harfinin üstte olmasý,
sað kalça iþlemi için de “R” harfinin üstte olmasý gerekir. Pozisyon verdirici tutacaðýn
sapýndan sýkýca kavranmalý ve yerinde tutulmalýdýr fakat doðru harf üst tarafta olana
kadar pozisyon verdiricinin tutacaðýn sapýndan tutarak döndürmek mümkündür. Pozisyon
verdiricinin doðru konumda olmasýyla cerrah bundan sonra genellikle cerrahi yaklaþýma
ve hastanýn operasyon masasýndaki konumuna baðlý olarak, tutacaðýn istenen hizalanmasýný
tespit edebilir.

Care should be taken to avoid notching, scratching, or striking the prosthesis. A
roughened or marred provisional could result in sudden failure of the prosthesis.
