The first adventure in the popular Siam Storm Series. When a small golden box containing dental remains of the Buddha is stolen and its guardian monks murdered; it is the surviving combatant monk, Pon's, duty to recover the holy item and avenge his brother monks. Pon leaves his secluded monastery in the Cardamom jungle to search of the man responsible. He enters Cambodia, where he finds the employer of, Dam, the man who committed the crime, but Dam has already fled, taking the box. Spock, Stu, and Nick are three lovable English rogues who are enjoying a holiday experience of a lifetime in Pattaya, in southeast Thailand. While enjoying a raucous night out, they accidentally stumble across the holy box and, unaware of its sacred contents, replace them with Nicks knocked out dentures. Pon, after pursuing Dam to Pattaya, runs into Spock, Stu, and Nick. Calamity follows and they all get swept up into a new kind of adventure. The fun has just begun...

Once they'd eaten, the soldiers left the quarters and went outside into<br />

the hot, humid grounds of the Wat. The villagers and the monks were<br />

already busy fetching large brittle blue rocks and what appeared to be<br />

white charcoal. The monks crushed this to powder and mixed it with<br />

other powders and a thick, sticky, amber liquid. The soldiers, not quite<br />

sure what to do, wandered aimlessly around the village for several<br />

hours, until Cenat retrieved them and put them to work with a carpenter,<br />

making what looked like canoes from cut-down trees.<br />

Fifty-nine large bundles lay out in a line along the back of the Wat,<br />

each wrapped in a cloth that gave off a pungent odour, making the<br />

soldiers gag. The fifty-eight bodies had been recovered from the temple<br />

while Cenat was away. Another body was later found unceremoniously<br />

dumped behind some rocks, several metres from the cave’s mouth. The<br />

remaining monks gathered around their fallen brother. They had seen<br />

the 5mm puncture-mark that the dead monk had at the back of his neck.<br />

“You know what this means,” said Vitchae to the elders, who nodded.<br />

Now knowing the assailant had used a *pitou, Vitchae not only knew<br />

how the perpetrator got in, he also thought he knew who it was. He<br />

would follow up on this after seeing his fallen brothers safely on their<br />

way to Nirvana. The dead monk was swathed and placed with the<br />

others.<br />

The monks, villagers, and soldiers worked long into the night on their<br />

appointed tasks. On the twilight of the third day, they all gathered at the<br />

rear of the Wat, on the large area the monks used for combat training<br />

and as general meeting place for the village. Pon joined the remaining<br />

monks. Although still weak, he felt that he must see his brothers off on<br />

their last journey.<br />

A long marble altar stood about four feet off the ground in the centre of<br />

the area. On the altar lay the fifty-nine coffins, each lined with
