The first adventure in the popular Siam Storm Series. When a small golden box containing dental remains of the Buddha is stolen and its guardian monks murdered; it is the surviving combatant monk, Pon's, duty to recover the holy item and avenge his brother monks. Pon leaves his secluded monastery in the Cardamom jungle to search of the man responsible. He enters Cambodia, where he finds the employer of, Dam, the man who committed the crime, but Dam has already fled, taking the box. Spock, Stu, and Nick are three lovable English rogues who are enjoying a holiday experience of a lifetime in Pattaya, in southeast Thailand. While enjoying a raucous night out, they accidentally stumble across the holy box and, unaware of its sacred contents, replace them with Nicks knocked out dentures. Pon, after pursuing Dam to Pattaya, runs into Spock, Stu, and Nick. Calamity follows and they all get swept up into a new kind of adventure. The fun has just begun...

suggestion, he traded with one of the soldiers a gold nugget with the<br />

Buddha’s image intricately carved on it for his mobile phone. The<br />

young Corporal thought he had made a good trade. ‘This must be worth<br />

a fortune,’ he thought. ‘That is if we ever get out of here.’ The soldier<br />

taught Pon how to use the phone but as there was no signal in this area,<br />

he could only pretend. Pon thought he had the gist of his new tool and<br />

Cenat gave him Taksin’s card. ‘This is a start’, he thought.<br />

He packed his cloth holdall with dried food, liquids, edible roots, and<br />

leaves, along with small round clay containers containing various<br />

powders, including sunblaze, the mobile phone, and his ornaments.<br />

Laid out beside him was his *glave, his sword, which resembled a<br />

Samurai sword, with seven inches of the rear side serrated, used for<br />

sawing through animal bone and cutting up carcasses for easy transport.<br />

The handle was engraved and hollow, with a tight-fitting flip top, which<br />

contained his pitou.<br />

Pon meditated. He had listened to Vitchae telling him of his suspicions,<br />

but as the old master told him, he had no firm proof. Pon was confused<br />

and unable to understand why anyone would do this, although in the<br />

next few minutes he would learn, who.<br />

Vitchae entered and went over to Pon, accompanied by an old woman<br />

from the village. Pon felt shocked, because villagers, especially women,<br />

were not allowed. ‘It must be important,’ he thought. Vitchae<br />

introduced the woman as Banti Meesilli. Pon recognised her from his<br />

morning pilgrimages around the village, when he and the other monks<br />

would go to acquire food, a ritual to learn humility. The villagers were<br />

always happy to give food in return for a blessing.<br />

The pair sat down in front of Pon. Vitchae encouraged Banti to tell him<br />

about her son. She tearfully explained that eight years ago her youngest
