of medicines. The purpose of the system is to analyze all the necessary
conditions for the selection of the drug. ES has rule-based knowledge base (KB)
which was created by knowledge engineers of Chair of Applied Information
Technologies of Saratov State Technical University in co-operation with experts
from the department of Pharmacology of Saratov State Medical University and
consist two levels of knowledge. The first level takes into account factors, which
relate with a single symptom. At this level groups of drugs from which the drug
will be chosen are formed. The core of knowledge base on the first level
contains rules (1):

id i Є ID, where ID = { id 1, id 2, … id n }, set of a unique serial numbers;

importance of the rule from the point of view of expert;
field i Є Field, where Field = { field 1, field 2, … field 6 } set of main
symptoms;
s_condition n Є Symptom_Сondition, where Symptom_Condition = {
s_condition 1 , s_condition 2 , … s_condition n }, set of conditions which contains
all possible symptoms;
lek i Є Lek, where Lek = { lek 1 , lek 2 ,… lek n } set, which contains all
groups of OTC drugs for the treatment of colds.
The second level of knowledge base is designed to select a specific drug.
At this level such important characteristics such as price, manufacturer and
dosage of drugs, a customer state are taken into consideration. The core of
knowledge base on the second level contains rules (2):

different OTC drugs at this time, for example: “Pectusin”, “Falimint”,
“Stoptussin” and etc.
fieldi Є Field, where Field is a set of main symptoms Field = { field1,
field2, … field6 } which describe cold and where field1= «tussis», field2=
«temperature», field3= «headache», field4 = «sore throat», field5= «rhinitis»,
field6= «blear-eyedness». Each symptom is characterized by a set of factors
