Torch mode button ... for selecting the control function of
the welding torch at the MIG/MAG process
- 2-step mode
- 4-step mode
- Special 4-step mode
- Aluminium 4-step mode
- Spot welding
Program button ... for selecting the desired MIG/MAG
welding program depending on filler metal and shielding gas.
Overtemperature indicator ... lights up when the power
source heats up too much (e.g. because the duty cycle has
been exceeded).
HOLD indicator ... every time you finish a welding operation,
the actual values for welding current and voltage are stored,
and the “Hold” indicator lights up.
“Welding voltage” parameter ... for selecting and displaying
the welding voltage. Before the start of welding, the
machine automatically displays a guideline value based on
the programmed parameters. During welding, the actual
value is displayed.
Arc length correction parameter ... for correcting the arc
length
- ....... shorter arc length
0....... neutral arc length
+ ...... longer arc length
Arc-force correction and arc-force parameter... has a
different function assigned to it, depending on the process
being used
MIG/MAG standard welding ... for influencing the shortcircuiting
dynamics at the instant of droplet transfer
- ....... harder and more stable arc
0....... neutral arc
+ ...... soft and low-spatter arc
“Welding current” parameter ... for selecting and displaying
the welding amperage. Before the start of welding, the
machine automatically displays a guideline value based on
the programmed parameters. During welding, the actual
value is displayed.
Wirespeed parameter ... for selecting the wirespeed in m/
min. Other parameters that are dependent on this are also
automatically adjusted accordingly.
Sheet thickness parameter ... for selecting the sheet thickness
in mm. This automatically sets all the other parameters
as well.
MEM button ... for accessing the Setup Menu or (in Job
Mode) for storing or clearing parameter settings.
N.B.! If you press the MEM button and the program button at the
same time, the display gives you a read-out of the software
version. To exit, press the MEM button.
CLEAR indicator ... lights up when a stored job is selected.
Press upwards the MEM button to clear the job.
Indicator for transition-arc range
- Transition arc = range between dip-transfer arc and spray
arc.
- Indicator only functions in MIG/MAG Standard Programoperation.
- The indicator lights up when the operating point that has
been set is within the characteristic range of the transition
arc. As transitional arcs are relatively instable during welding,
with deposition accompanied by spattering due to the
occasional short-circuiting that occurs, the welder will
generally try to avoid welding in this range.
Changing to another diameter of wire or a different shieldinggas
mixture, and/or welding with a (virtually spatter-free)
pulsed arc, are just some of the proven methods of avoiding
this problematical transitional range and getting improved
welding characteristics.
MIG/MAG manual-mode ... for influencing the short-circuiting
amperage at the instant of droplet transfer
0....... soft, low-spatter arc
10..... harder, more stable arc
Manual electrode welding ... for influencing the short-circuiting
amperage at the instant of droplet transfer
0....... soft, low-spatter arc
100 .. harder, more stable arc
Droplet detachment parameter... for influencing the shortcircuiting
dynamics at the instant of droplet transfer at MIG/
MAG pulsed-arc welding
- ....... lower droplet-detachment force
0....... neutral droplet-detachment force
+ ...... increased droplet-detachment force
