She married Christian Christ Ast. They selected a homestead three quarters of a mile from her parents' home. Following the death of her husband, she chose to remain on the farm to reaise her children. Elizabeth was known for her hard work, homemade bread and cheese sandwiches, and love of family and friends. Her son Bill lived with his mother and when old enough helped with the farming. He passed away on April 12, 1974.
