Nihongaku
Without divulging the entire history (or at least more than what is directly above this paragraph) of how I
came to be so enamored with Japanese music that I would construct a blog about it, let me say that first
and foremost I am absolutely an advocate Nihon Ongaku (Japanese music). What you will receive by
visiting Nihongaku is not purely objective, nor pure advocacy, but a mixture of the two. If the new Gran
Rodeo album sucks (it does by the way), I will not hesitate to say so. I will also freely admit my generally
positive bias toward (just about) any music that is Japanese in origin. As with anything even remotely
journalistic in origin, the final decision about anything written here is up to you to discover for yourself.
Nihongaku is not a portal for Japanese music news. I will report news from time to time as I become
aware of it, but there are plenty of sites that are already doing a fine job of covering that. At least, I hope
there are.
Nippon Иoize
My name is Natasha. The average American who just happens to love Japanese Rock, Indie and
Electronic music. I currently live in Nagoya, Japan. I created this because I don't have any friends who I
can talk to about this kind of music so passionately with. Not only that, I want to promote many indie
bands to those who have an interest in the same things as me. The music industry is huge in this country,
but there are a lot of struggling artists and bands unknown to the masses. While I will admit, most of the
groups I post about I actually, in some form or another, really like them.
dark and dank clubs, we work to find fantastic music so we can share it, review it, and talk with the artists
who created it. Send your sounds using our Dropbox.
Hallyu (mainly referred to in English as the Korean Wave) is a word that is often used to describe the
growing presence of South Korean pop culture, particularly its Pop music, TV dramas and films,
internationally. Here at Beyond Hallyu we aim to take a closer look at Korean culture and what else
Korea has to give.
