The history of this essential space in the home has always intrigued me and I’ve come across quite a few quirky tidbits. For instance, bathrooms were considered unnecessary during prehistoric times. Smart, isn’t it? Then the most fascinating fact that Indians were way ahead of the British when it came to establishing rooms we could bathe in — Indian palaces in the 1700s had flush toilets and elaborate bathrooms replete with sink-in marble tubs.
