GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS POLITICAL NEWS CORNER [ BY JOE BREZNY, DEPUTY GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS DIRECTOR ] THE PRIMARY MUNICIPAL ELECTION IS TUESDAY, APRIL 2 PRIMARY ELECTION VOTING Voter turnout in municipal elections hovers in the 10-15% range, so every vote counts even more this year because there are so few of them cast. When the general public votes at 10% and we vote at 25%, decision makers take notice. Actually, you screamed and complained about robocalls louder than any other form on campaigning, so we listened. There are no robocalls scheduled for this year, and odds are they will never happen again. I think they’re annoying, too. Don’t worry, you’ll still get voting information from us by e-mail. THE END OF ALL POLITICAL CALLS? Sick of the political calls in general? It’s not a very commonly known fact that although there is a field on your voter registration form for a phone number, you are not required to give a phone number in order to register to vote. Most people put the phone number down anyway, but it isn’t required. And if you leave that field blank, it is much harder for political campaigns to get your digits. Already registered to vote?
