LOCAL EVENTS Our 2015 book advent Do you have children’s books to spare? Home-Start Aberdeen Following its success last year, Home-Start Aberdeen will again be organising a book advent for the families we support. The book advent encourages parents to read a ‘new’ book with their children in the 25 days leading up to Christmas. Reading together is a wonderful way to encourage families to bond, as well as helping with literacy, communication and imaginative skills. If you have any unwanted children’s books that are in good condition, please pass them onto us. Last year we wrapped over 2025 books so that more than 80 families we support could participate in this positive project.
