BUT. And it gets complicated. Some kids
bikes ONLY have electric start, so when
the battery runs down – which it does,
you end up push starting the bike – which
can be real fun in the mud. SO – if you
can, get one with a kick starter too. Guess
what? The Suzuki 70 has one.
We popped our 6 year old Kyle Foley on
the bike – who has just moved up to a
slightly bigger CRF 80 Honda four-stroke
and asked his opinion on the Yellow
terror…
A few things he likes.
Electric start. His bike only has a kick
starter, “Dad, pushing the button is cool!”
and he managed to kickstart the bike,
which he has not quite mastered on his
bigger 80 just yet. It feels comfortable,
bigger than a 50 but smaller than an 80.
The power feels good – the little 70
willingly climbed all the (smaller) hills
that we could find at Rhino Park. “I like
the suspension, it’s not hard like my
bike (Bicycle), and the brakes are much
better than my bike.” Drum brakes – not
the best but on a new bike they always
feel a bit better. Drums do need constant
adjustment over time, but they are
adequate for little entry level bikes.
We quizzed him throughout the day as
he blasted through puddles and every
mud hole in sight and he had nothing
but praise for the little Zuk. “Dad, it’s not
as fast as my 80, but its’s cool!” “I like
the power and you can go fast and I feel
safe.” Then he aimed for the next puddle
and opened the throttle…
Conclusions:
Kick start check!
Electric start check!
Four stroke check!
Semi auto Check!
Nice power check!
That’s pretty much it. It’s a Suzuki, so
you know that the quality is there, parts
are no issue – a fantastic little entry level
motorcycle. Go and check one out, your
kids will love it.
