Ride impressions: It’s a nice nippy little runabout - from our place near JHB international airport, out to Randburg, Pretoria and back, we really gave this bike a good ride. Power is not mind blowing, but it is steady and efficient, with the bike happily chugging along at around the 90kph mark, even with a bigger (read heavier) rider in the saddle. Open wide and she’ll climb to 120, but stay wide awake on the freeways when you want to overtake. Handling is great, you can confidently carve through traffic, the suspension feels just fine and the disc brakes are excellent. Zooting around the suburbs is where this bike feels most at home – it’s a great bike for runs to the shops or off to kuier with your buddy. We stuck a pillion out back for a few kilometres and surprisingly, the bike felt almost exactly the same through the gears – no adverse handling and the power feels the same almost right up to the top. For the duration of our test, we only put in R200.00 worth of fuel – and there were still two bars of fuel displayed after 300 km – so we are really impressed with the fuel economy of the bike. – around 60c a kilometre if our maffs is right… Conclusions: Great little runabout.
