Kyle Branso won
the 65cc class.
Cape riders Dean Gouws (KTM) and Troy Sullivan (KTM)
did their home crowd proud by finishing third and fourth
and were followed by Erik Merry (KTM); Luke Davis
(KTM) who started and finished the race without a
clutch and Liam Krause (Kawasaki).
Having a look at the Senior 85cc Championship
standings, Maarten van Jaarsveld, who competed in the
first four events (he crashed at the Louis Trichardt race)
finished fourth for the year while Merry rounds off the
top five. Gouws (he competed in three of the five races)
is sixth; Reinhardt Taylor is seventh; Davis and Krause
finished eighth and ninth with Matthew Green 10th.
The route was quite ridden out and really tested the
competitors in the Junior Quad Class where Lindie
Barnard (Barnard Vervoer Suzuki) scored a hat-trick
(despite a crash) with a third victory and the 2015 title.
She was followed by Megan Stander who struggled
through the first lap after the chain on her Suzuki
came off all the time. She finished all the races in her
first national season and is second for the year with
Francois Bennett (Honda), who was third at the BC
Juniors despite battery problems, rounding off the top
three for the year.
Gerard and Antwan Geldenhuys (Abacus DIVISIONS
Racing) are fourth and fifth (only one point separates
them) with Damian Robert (Sign Wonder Racing Honda)
sixth and Janco Joubert seventh after he won the first
two events before swapping the racing for rugby...
