understanding a concept or achieving the grade you want, we have a variety of services staffed with<br />

CTE Transitions—Earn <strong>College</strong> Credit at Your<br />

The CTE Transitions Program awards college credit to high school<br />
students who earn an “A” or “B” in pre-approved career-related high<br />
school courses. More than 30 high school courses have been approved<br />
in the following disciplines: accounting, architecture, automotive<br />
technology, business administration, business office technology, child<br />
development, design, horticulture, marketing, medical assisting, and<br />

The Credit ESL Program has earned national recognition for its<br />
outstanding composition program and superior success rates. The<br />
academically focused program prepares students to be critical<br />
thinkers, readers, and writers who are equipped with the skills needed<br />
for college success.<br />
The program is now offering classes for students from multilingual<br />
backgrounds or others wanting or needing extra grammar or<br />
language assistance. See our course offerings under American<br />

Make the most of your first year in college and apply to the First Year<br />
Experience (FYE) Program. As an FYE student, you will build meaningful<br />
connections by taking a set of courses with the<br />
same instructors and students. You will participate<br />
in special events and field trips to universities<br />
throughout the year. You will also receive<br />
academic planning from a program-designated<br />

Honors courses are open to all students and provide intensive instruction<br />
and challenging course work that afford students an enriched<br />
educational experience. Honors<br />
courses are designated in the course<br />
listings with an “H.” Students may also<br />
apply for the Honors Scholar Program,<br />
which offers enhanced transfer benefits,<br />
scholarship opportunities, unique<br />
cultural and social activities, participation in research conferences, and<br />
a positive academic community experience.<br />

Internships allow students to earn credit while gaining “hands-on”<br />
experience in a field of interest. Through internships, students develop<br />
faculty-mentor relationships and professional networks and add<br />
significant experience to their resumes and transfer applications. Start<br />
planning your internship the semester before you want to enroll.<br />
