After a while, Miyagi sat across from me and started eating up<br />

Himeno’s pasta.<br />

“Quite tasty even if it’s cold,” she said.<br />

I didn’t say anything.<br />

Once I finished the meal, still unsure how it had ever tasted, I asked<br />

Miyagi.<br />

“Hey, Miyagi. Be honest with me. Why do you think Himeno left?”<br />

Miyagi replied. “Perhaps because she thought you were insane.”<br />

Which in a sense was true.<br />

But the truth was a little more complicated, and Miyagi knew that<br />

too.<br />

And she hid that, for my sake.<br />

After paying at the register and leaving, I heard someone calling me<br />

from behind. I turned to find a waiter running up with something<br />

for me.<br />

“The woman you came with asked me to give you this.”<br />

It was a letter, which seemed to have been torn out <strong>of</strong> a notebook.<br />

I took my time reading it.<br />

And when I did, I found that Miyagi had been lying to me all this<br />

time.<br />

“You knew about this and kept it from me?”<br />

Miyagi answered with her head hung.<br />

“I did. I’m sorry.”<br />

“No need to apologize. You let me had my good dream.”<br />

I was the one who needed to apologize. But I didn’t have the energy
