A GREAT START TO THE 43 rd SEASON OF
OHL HOCKEY IN KINGSTON!
Thank you for your support in our big games so far this season, a support
that has led to the 5th highest average attendance in the OHL
so far this season! We’re averaging more fans than ever before in the
club’s history, through our continued support of season ticket holders,
corporate partners, non-profit agencies, minor hockey teams, and group
support!
The atmosphere inside Rogers K-Rock Centre on game nights is among
the loudest and most engaging in the OHL. Thank you for truly being
the seventh player on the ice for the Kingston Frontenacs!
Inside this issue you’ll find some great articles to give you some insight
into our team. Gord Hunter brings you “From Russia with Puck” on
page 6 about Konstantin Chernyuk, our Russian-born defenceman who
came to Kingston from Russia through Wichita Falls, Texas. Gord also
looks at the birth of the OHL franchise in Kingston with “More Than
40 Years of Junior Hockey History” on page 12. Tonight’s game story on
page 22 is a one-on-one with Head Coach Paul McFarland.
On and off the ice, the Kingston Frontenacs are off to a great start
to our 43rd season of OHL Hockey in Kingston. On behalf of the entire
