recycling stations.<br />

Large and bulky items that do not fi t into the waste bin because<br />

they are too big<br />

Simply sign-up to get rid of your junk:<br />

Please register at least three weeks in advance in writing for the<br />

relevant date<br />

by post or fax: 58-29900.<br />

For bigger housing areas with more than 20 apartments, please ask your<br />

building manger for separate dates. Commercial waste will be accepted<br />

against a fee.<br />

If things must go quickly:<br />

Bulky refuse may be delivered to the recycling stations in Kirchheim and<br />

Wieblingen against payment, or collected by our friendly personnel of<br />

the „Sperrmüll Express“.<br />

This includes:<br />

Electric household appliances, fl ooring and carpeting, metal items, furniture,<br />

oil stoves (completely empty), oil tanks (with proof from offi cial<br />

tank cleaner)<br />

Please don’t come here for:<br />

Waste bags, waste from remodelling or renovating projects, waste<br />

containing asbestos, car parts, car tyres, bath ceramics, construction<br />

waste, paint buckets, glass panes (e.g. mirrors)<br />

Trade-in and give-away markets in <strong>Heidelberg</strong><br />

Things you don’t need or use any more, which would be a pity to throw<br />

away, can be traded in or given away at the City of <strong>Heidelberg</strong>’s Internet<br />

Trade-in Center.<br />

Where to turn in your energy-saving bulbs<br />

and fl uorescent lamps:<br />

Energy-saving bulbs and fl uorescent lamps contain mercury; they have<br />

to be collected separately and recycled in special recycling plants and<br />

facilities.<br />

Energy-saving bulbs and fl uorescent lamps can be turned in free of<br />

charge at the recycling stations in Kirchheim (Oftersheimer Weg) and<br />

Wieblingen (Mittelgewannweg 2a).<br />

You can also turn in your energy-saving bulbs at:<br />
