This year, <strong>KIRCHHOFF</strong> Automotive’s trade<br />
fair appearance focused on solutions for<br />
vehicle safety, lightweight construction<br />
technologies, and energy saving. Lightweight<br />
construction is becoming increasingly<br />
important, not only for the electric<br />
drive, but also for the classic combustion<br />
engine. According to VDA president<br />
Matthias Wissmann, the latter still has a<br />
great deal of potential for optimisation:<br />
“Reduced displacement, higher charging,<br />
lightweight construction—these are all<br />
key words in this respect.”<br />
In the long-term, however, there is no<br />
way around electric vehicles. “Electric<br />
mobility is another core component of<br />
the IAA. Many suppliers are showcasing<br />
their technologically innovative contributions<br />
in this field”, said Wissmann in a<br />
press release.<br />
