‣ ¾ Embrace learner-centred practice and interact with students to ascertain their strengths and
preferences when it comes to learning experiences.
‣ ¾ Emphasize possible practical applications (e.g., “real-world”) when introducing abstract or
theoretical concepts.
Give children a chance to
• learn a job, then do the job and be paid for it (if this happens for a few weeks, they will
then be able to be successful, because they have seen success; success breeds success)
• be successful with buying and selling items (they need to learn to take pride in what
they do for work, entrepreneurship)
• learn from real-life situations that will help them to do the right things
(i.e., stay away from drinking, drugs etc.)
• learn practical life skills as part of their daily work at school (more holistic education)
