Scenarios<br />
Within the quantitative part of the survey, four different scenarios about data usage and big data analytics were evaluated.<br />
Connected<br />
Cars, GPS,<br />
Mobility<br />
Health,<br />
Clinical<br />
Diagnostics<br />
E-Commerce,<br />
Shopping,<br />
Loyalty Cards<br />
Smart Meter,<br />
Smart Home<br />
Each respondent was presented with<br />
at least one of four scenarios.<br />
The scenarios describe a situation in an everyday<br />
setting that can involve the usage of big data. Each<br />
scenario is introduced with a short description.<br />
For each scenario, the respondents were<br />
asked to evaluate how comfortable they felt<br />
with five to six statements and situations.<br />
These statements/situations represent different<br />
levels of data usage and intrusion into people’s privacy.<br />

Cars generate a huge amount of data today thanks to their sophisticated electronic<br />
systems, much of which is used for diagnostic behaviour in order to ensure the car is<br />
performing correctly, or can be repaired. Given the amount of data that is generated<br />
how comfortable would you be with this data being used in any of the following ways?<br />
