SPECIALTY PROGRAMS � In addition to Driver Improvement, DUI, and Youth Programs, the Florida Safety Council offers courses designed to prevent repeat offenses through education. � These programs may be court ordered or made a condition of probation, if the court views the program as an appropriate method of reducing the risks of future legal system involvement. www.FloridaSafety.org 44 SPECIALTY PROGRAMS
ALCOHOL SALES TRAINING Available only on the Internet (3-hour) Purpose: Program designed for persons charged with the offense of selling, giving, or serving alcoholic beverages, to a person under 21 years of age. Required and recommended by Pretrial Diversion Programs for persons charged with the aforementioned offense. COURT ORDERED. Voluntary “attendance” or business referral of employees who sell/serve alcohol is also encouraged. Goal: To educate retail sellers of alcoholic beverages of the ramifications of selling alcohol to minors. Course Content: � How to protect both the individual and the establishment they work for from liability. � How alcohol affects customers. � How to recognize the affects of alcohol. � How to prevent illegal sales. � How to prevent and deal with disturbances. � How to accurately check an I.D. to recognize underage persons. � How to prevent second party sales and loitering.
