Kenny Gilbert to Husqvarna
“As of the 31st of December 2015, my journey on board
the Bidvest Yamaha racing team has ended. A few years
ago, I joined the team as a young ambitious athlete
and with the support of Yamaha, I managed to clinch 3
consecutive National Titles. Their support was incredible,
but that being said, it is time for me to take a new
exciting step in my Career.
I am honored to announce that I have signed with Kargo
Husqvarna , and that with the support of our incredible
sponsors, we are ready to take on 2016 with my number
one plate and contend for some more championships!
I will be competing in both the National Offroads,
National Enduro’s, some local races, and a few
selected international events.”
Altus De Wet
to Yamaha
“I would like to start by giving a
big thanks to Ben Du Toit and
Hanlie Du Toit from Toyscom
and Sherco for all their support
in 2015. They are good people
and I think we achieved a lot in
a short time.”
Due to other commitments,
Sherco can not support me
anymore for 2016.
So for 2016 I’ll be joining
forces with Yamaha.
In the last two days Peter
Wilkins from Yamaha has
really gone out of his way
to try help me for 2016.
I can only thank Yamaha
for believing in me and
giving me this chance.
I will still run as ALTiE
in Altus de Wet Racing
together with all my very
loyal sponsors Cargo
Tac, RIC, UMSO, Rock
oil, Leatt, Buffalo Toyota
and JT racing. I am
very grateful to have
such good friends and
sponsors that back me no
matter what.
For 2016 I will focus more
on SA races again including
Romaniacs and possibly six
days.
I will also make an appearance
at National off roads again for
some fun.
ALTiE wants to extend the
riding school side too and start
giving back to up and coming
riders.
Thanks for all the support from
everyone involved and see you
guys for some fun at the races!
Dungey extends points lead
Ryan Dungey picked up his second-consecutive 450SX Main Event
win Saturday night at Angel Stadium in Anaheim after passing Davi
Millsaps early on in the race.
In doing so, Dungey has extended his points lead and is already
establishing himself as the man to beat after just 3 of 17 rounds. He
has finished on the podium in the last 18 450SX Mains.
Behind Dungey at the line were Chad Reed and Ken Roczen, Roczen
taking third on the final lap after Eli Tomac fell from that position.
250 SX: Cooper Webb Wins - Anaheim 2 - 2016
In the 250SX Main, Cooper Webb took his third victory of the season
and his seventh consecutive win – but not without some competition.
As he has often this season, Webb got off to a poor start at the
beginning of the Main. He had, however, been able to work his way
up into third position by the time that Joey Savatgy – who had been
running in second – made a mistake and went down. Webb then
found himself by Christian Craig, the rider who had won their heat
race at the start of the night.
Turn-after-turn, Craig and Webb traded the lead for multiple laps until
Webb finally emerged triumphant, while Zach Osborne and Craig
rounded out the podium.
