EVS’ Wrist brace:
When our Kyle Lawrenson hurt his
wrist a few months back, it put a bit
of a kybosh on his riding. To protect
the injured joint, he purchased the
EVS wrist brace – The wrist is better
but it still niggles a bit.
Injured wrists are pretty common
among bikers and can plague you
for months or even years after they
happen. Looking after them during
rehabilitation is key. The EVS wrist
brace features twin straps, two
support strips and a Velcro-adjustable
Neoprene sleeve.
We found that it can be worn both
ways and fits right and left joints. It
does its job brilliantly, and, with the
Velcro sleeve fitting, you can easily
put the brace on without removing
your gloves.
This means you can ride without it on
less gnarly sections of the trail but slip
it on without too much hassle when
things start getting wilder. That’s just
the time when an injured rider will be
in need of some extra protection and
peace of mind.

Renthal chain lube is 100% lubricant, zero propellant. So
this new 250ml bottle size combines high performance
and value. The all-new formula Chain Lube is specially
designed to penetrate all parts of the chain. The high
film strength and stable viscosity, across a range of
temperatures, gives superb adhesion and anti-fling
properties.
This all-condition lube is compatible with all o-ring
and non o-ring chains. The new twist-nozzle allows
for accurate application, to ensure full coverage and
protection. We’ve just got ourselves some – a bit different
to the usual spray on stuff, we’ll try it out over a couple of
bike washes and report back on what we think.
We also took the plunge and invested in some classy
looking high end Renthal intellilevers for our new FX. The
design of the Gen2 Intellilever allows the lever to dislocate
during a crash, then easily pop back into place. The design
of the lever allows it to dislocate in a full 270 degrees of
motion in any direction, not just up and down or forward
like most other unbreakable levers on the market.
They tell us that improvements to rider ergonomics,
finish, fit, feel and function are all part of the new
Gen2 Intellilever. We’ll try them out – hopefully
without crashing – and report back in a bit…
