Ball<strong>in</strong>asloe GAA Juvenile football club provide tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g<br />

for ages from under 8, right up to and <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g under<br />

16, with each age hav<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>ir own management<br />

team. The u8’s play o<strong>the</strong>r clubs <strong>in</strong> friendly games and<br />

have regular tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g sessions. The u10 teams have<br />

<strong>in</strong>volvement <strong>in</strong> many tournaments, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />

Clan na Gael tournament and also <strong>the</strong> St. Gabriel’s<br />

tournaments, which <strong>the</strong>y previously won.<br />

The u12 team plays annually <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> County League and also <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Barry<br />

Cycles tournament, which is run locally. The u14 and u16 teams also<br />

compete <strong>in</strong> County Leagues and Championships. The u14 footballers<br />

recently won a league f<strong>in</strong>al which was held locally <strong>in</strong> Duggan Park,<br />

where Ball<strong>in</strong>asloe successfully beat Loughrea, 1-14 to 1-9.<br />

The club will be send<strong>in</strong>g out a newsletter to all schools and managers,<br />

where details on tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g sessions and matches will be given. The club<br />

facilities <strong>in</strong>clude three pitches, with all management on a voluntary<br />

basis. Everyone is welcome to help out with <strong>the</strong> teams, and <strong>the</strong> club will<br />

provide coach<strong>in</strong>g courses for those <strong>in</strong>terested. All teams have an end<br />

of season party, which nicely concludes a very active and busy year for<br />

<strong>the</strong> kids.<br />
