TENNIS CLUB UPDATE<br />

After a break from organised activities for Christmas,<br />
<strong>the</strong> tennis club has a full schedule of activities<br />
underway for <strong>the</strong> spr<strong>in</strong>g season.<br />
• Junior coach<strong>in</strong>g takes place very Monday from 5-6pm<br />
• Junior supervised open session takes place every Sunday from 12-1pm<br />
• Ladies open night is <strong>We</strong>dnesdays from 7-9pm<br />
• Mixed open is Tuesday and Friday nights from 7-9pm.<br />
• S<strong>in</strong>gles ladies and gents ladders are ongo<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
• Intra and <strong>in</strong>terclub junior, ladies and gents challenges are ongo<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
The Tennis Club is offer<strong>in</strong>g older adults a great opportunity to improve<br />
<strong>the</strong>ir levels of fitness by try<strong>in</strong>g tennis for <strong>the</strong> first time or perhaps play<strong>in</strong>g<br />
aga<strong>in</strong> for <strong>the</strong> first time <strong>in</strong> years. There will be a 6 week coach<strong>in</strong>g program<br />
commenc<strong>in</strong>g Monday 1st February from 6-7 pm with professional coach<br />
Robert Johnson, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g fun challenges for participants that will cater for<br />
all standards, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g beg<strong>in</strong>ners.<br />
The club has recently become affiliated with Tennis Ireland, which br<strong>in</strong>gs<br />
many benefits <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> opportunity to participate <strong>in</strong> even more<br />
organised challenges and competitions with o<strong>the</strong>r clubs for both senior<br />
and junior members.<br />
Tennis Club annual membership fees are extremely reasonable at €25<br />
for adults, €15 for juniors and students and €40 for families.<br />
