St. Joseph’s Academy has established Charism<br />
in Action, a new organization designed to help<br />
students better underst<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> promote the<br />
charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph. The group’s<br />
first meeting was held November 3 in the Chapel<br />
at SJA.<br />
SJA Creates Charism in Action Group<br />
Students heard from Sister Adele Lambert,<br />
<strong>for</strong>mer SJA president, about the history <strong>and</strong><br />
charism of the Sisters. Also speaking to the group<br />
were Dr. Greg <strong>and</strong> Mrs. Debbie (Kleinpeter ’77)<br />
administration to join students from sister<br />
schools in Clevel<strong>and</strong>, Ohio, <strong>and</strong> LaGrange Park,<br />
Illinois, <strong>for</strong> the weeklong conference.<br />
Charism in Action is open to any SJA student<br />
who wants to enjoy a closer relationship with<br />
the Sisters; gain a better underst<strong>and</strong>ing of their<br />
charitable work <strong>and</strong> love of the dear neighbor;<br />
work in unity to carry out the Sisters’ ideals; <strong>and</strong><br />
be part of an organization that may serve as a<br />
precursor to becoming an Associate, which they<br />
must be 18 to pursue.<br />
Ten members of Charism in Action will be<br />
selected to participate in next summer’s CSJ/SSJ<br />
Student Leadership Conference, to be held in<br />
Kansas City, Missouri.<br />

Presented by<br />
The new Charism in Action organization helps students better<br />
underst<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> promote the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph. The<br />
group is pictured following its first meeting in November.<br />
Gelpi, who are CSJ Associates. This group of men<br />
<strong>and</strong> women embrace the charism of unity <strong>and</strong><br />
reconciliation <strong>and</strong> participate in the mission of<br />
the Sisters in their daily lives.<br />
Also speaking to the gathering were seniors Lily<br />
Rennhoff <strong>and</strong> Gloria Alvarado, who participated<br />
in the inaugural CSJ/SSJ Student Leadership<br />
Conference in Philadelphia this summer. They<br />
were among 10 students selected by the SJA<br />
February 26 - 28, <strong>2016</strong><br />
