FITNESS CENTRE<br />

ORIENTATION<br />

Orientations are conducted by our Fitness<br />

Centre Monitor. The purpose of<br />

these orientations is to ensure that<br />

participants understand proper gym etiquette,<br />

know how to use the equipment<br />

safely, and know how to use the facility<br />

properly. Orientations are free and<br />

are booked at the Aquatic Centre<br />

front desk. Please call 364-0888 or<br />

drop in to set up an appointment.<br />

TEEN GET FIT<br />

13 to 14 Years<br />

You will be introduced to the fitness<br />

centre by a certified personal trainer<br />

in a group setting. Learn about physical<br />

fitness, weight training, cardio training,<br />

goal setting, safety, gym etiquette, and<br />

how to avoid injury. All 13 and 14 year<br />

olds must first attend a Teen Get Fit session<br />

prior to using the Fitness Centre.<br />

Please note: specific dates can be<br />

arranged with 3 or more participants.<br />

BODY TONE / BARRE CLASS<br />

Feel the burn as you develop lean muscles in<br />

this intense, low impact full body workout.<br />

High repetitions are incorporated with mat<br />

work, light weights, resistance bands and<br />

stability balls to help your strength training<br />

and to fatigue your muscles. All exercises<br />

are targeted in working at different angles of<br />

push and pull to challenge and tone a specific<br />

body part. Attention is given for all fitness<br />

levels and participant’s abilities.<br />

HIIT & Tabata<br />

Studies show that interval training burns<br />

far more calories than cardio alone,<br />

revving up your metabolism by working<br />

at a higher intensity in shorter intervals.<br />

Blast through those plateaus with<br />

timed cardio bursts and core and strength<br />

exercises. These classes will get you<br />

inspired and motivated in your journey to<br />

fitness and health! Beginner, intermediate,<br />

and advance options are available.<br />

End the week off with this challenging and<br />

energizing core strengthening class. The<br />

core is the basis of our total body strength;<br />

with a strong core the body has better<br />

alignment, stability and therefore more<br />

power. You will learn many different exercises<br />

using free weights, stability balls,<br />

bands, and floor routines. Modifications<br />

included for different levels.<br />
