Mining excavator on a “WideCombi“
Safe and reliable under extreme conditions
Modern mining and the mining industry have experienced tremendous
technological changes. Where only a few decades ago trolleys and
human labour were relied on to get the job done, today huge amounts
of earth and rock are moved by machines specially designed for this
purpose. The logistical challenges are, on the one hand, to efficiently
transport the excavated materials for further processing and, on
the other, transporting the large, often difficult-to-move stripping
machines to their places of operation
The TII Group can look back on decades-long experience in the mining
sector. Today, the Group has a wide range of vehicles and modules for
the transportation of giant excavators, earth movers, surface mining
machines and conveying systems in the most remote mining areas
in the world. The product portfolio ranges from electronically controlled,
self-propelled units and manouvrable lifting transporters and
mega modules through to U-frames and special vehicles. The most
powerful tractor worldwide approved for road use, the Tractomas
with more than 1,000 hp, has established itself in the large mining
regions of the world for towing raw material trailers in convoys –
so-called road trains – involving total combination weights of up to
550 tonnes at speeds of up to 80 km/h on unpaved roads or on up to
8-degree gradients from the pit. Also for transportation underground,
flexibly used transport systems including the unmanned versions –
so-called AGVs (Automatic Guided Vehicles) - perform a wide range
of tasks. The TII Group’s mining portfolio is characterized by its high
level of robustness and very long service life. Whether it is working
in temperatures of -40 to +50 degrees Centigrade or difficult, highly
corrosive environments – the transport systems of the Group operate
reliably and safely also under extreme conditions.
