Growth rates in road haulage are clearly increasing particularly in
the areas of combined rail/road traffic and swap body logistics. This
has led to an increasing demand for special solutions regarding
internal transportation proceedures in logistics centres, forwarders
yards, freight and parcel centres. Wherever a large number of swap
bodies, trailers and semi-trailers have to be shunted, repositioned
and towed, this means that cost-effective solutions for fast and safe
moving operations are required. The "Wiesel" product range which
has been developed by KAMAG – a TII Group company – optimally
fulfills these requirements.
Thus, customers can universally use the swap body transporter of
the TII Group at their respective logistics centre as the “Wiesel” can
accommodate all standard swap bodies due to the standard parking
height of only 950 mm along with the jumbo swap bodies, as the highvolume
swap bodies are called in the industry. Additionally equipped
with fifth-wheel couplings for drawbar trailers and low-coupled centre
axle trailers or with a fifth wheel coupling, all yard movements in a
terminal are possible with only one machine. Highest operational
comfort for the driver is guaranteed. Using only one step facilitates
easy entry to the low-positioned driver’s cab. By means of a joystick,
the driver can operate all functions such as forward movement and
reversing, lifting and lowering of the lifting frame, automatic locking
of the swap body and is thus able to safely and quickly move swap
bodies, trailers and semi-trailers. The “TruckWiesel”, the terminal
tractor from the TII Group, is equipped with the same joystick operation
which was specially developed for moving semi-trailers. Once again,
fast, safe, universal and thus cost-effective use for the customer is
of primary importance.
All semi-trailers, such as container chassis, box body semi-trailers,
curtainsiders as well as 1 to 3-axle semi-trailers, are safely picked
up, moved and set down by the “TruckWiesel“. Moreover, because fast
moving operations means economic efficiency in terminal logistics,
the fifth-wheel plate can be raised to 1,600 mm thus eliminating the
need to crank the support feet during the moving procedure.
Both the “Wiesel“ and “TruckWiesel“ are used by all major logistics
companies, freight hauliers, parcel services and postal operators in
all European countries.
