Devon ‘Booby’ Thomas withdraws<br />

from the National Cricket team<br />

National, Leeward Islands and former<br />

West Indies wicketkeeper batsman Devon<br />

“Booby” Thomas has withdrawn from the<br />

national Cricket team to participate in the<br />

Leeward Islands 50 overs aside competition.<br />

The former national and Leeward Islands<br />

captain who played for the Jamaica Scorpions<br />

in the just concluded WICB, Professional<br />

Cricket League four day competition<br />

made his unavailability known to the Antigua<br />

& Barbuda Cricket Association earlier<br />

this week without any reason.<br />

The Leeward Islands 50- overs competition<br />

will bowl off on Wednesday 21 st in<br />

St. Kitts &Nevis and Antigua & Barbuda,<br />

St. Kitts, Nevis, St. Maarten, Anguilla, The<br />

USVI and the BVI will all be competing.<br />

The PIC Insurance Liberta Black Hawks<br />

opening batsman Kadeem Phillip will replace<br />

Thomas. The full team reads Jamaul<br />

Fernandez, Karima Gore, Orlando Peters,<br />

Rahkeem Jimbo Cornwall, and Tyrone Williams<br />

Inter-school basketball<br />

games were postponed<br />

yesterday due to the ongoing<br />

inclement weather.<br />

Coordinator of<br />

school’s basketball, Carl<br />

‘Bowlie’ Knight, stated<br />

that ‘we will continue to<br />

monitor the weather for<br />

the rest of the week.<br />

Sadly we had to postpone<br />

our games for today<br />

but they will be played<br />

once the weather holds up<br />

as we look to wrap up another<br />

year of school basketball’.<br />

ABCA Two-Day Cricket Competition<br />

Jamaul Fernandez had three<br />

for 26 to give Bethesda victory<br />

by an innings and 75<br />

runs.<br />

Cyclists to compete in circuit race<br />

2:30pm with 6 categories on the road. Elite,<br />

Masters, Juniors/Youth, Elite Females, Junior<br />

Females and Sports.<br />

The participants will begin at the North<br />

side of the stadium and ride around the<br />

grounds in the required laps.
