To this very day, the Project Area has not recovered,
and in many ways has been forgotten by
the jurisdictions it so readily served for more than
a century. This confluence of locally undesirable
land uses compounds the negative civic and social
impacts on area residents and business—already
heavily burdened with economic disadvantage and
the accompanying challenges to their quality of life.
