<strong>Thessaloniki</strong>’s central square<br />

is one of the largest and most<br />

impressive in Greece, and<br />

a bustling place twenty four<br />

hours a day. It is one of the<br />

few sections of the Hébrard<br />

Committee urban plan, which<br />

came to be realised after the<br />

1917 fire, although it became<br />

fully shaped in as late as the<br />

early 1960s. It is a square<br />

on the seafront, with a 100<br />

m. opening, that affords an<br />

amazing view of the Thermaic<br />

Gulf and the Olympus massif.<br />
