11 years, almost, at SAS, before that 17 years at Oracle. I used to be an Account Manager (2 Oracle) and later Sales Manager for the Public Sector. The past 4 years I have switched to Customer Care, Sales Operations & BidOffice as well as the Academic Program. A full plate! Two top item: 1. Resources and Budget: • It’s just impossible to do a good job practically by yourself. I have a student 1 day of the week to help me with the logistics and our Education Manager is involved with the teacher/professor program (also her excellent trainers) but she’s focusses understandably on her commercial commissionplan. The same goes for pre/post-sales support. • I need to finance a lot of activities to get visibility. Every year it has to be allotted thru other departments (MKT for instance) cumbersome process. 1. Software: • Availability of VA/VS or comparable dashboard capabilities for students. They now work with Tableau and seem very happy with it… • Strange effect, for students to do their exams with SODA they need a WIFI-connection to the server. They are not allowed to use WIFI during the exams… • Distribution process of SAS Academic Suite is tough. No more DVD’s. We are devising a way to almost automatically install the software from a central Depot at our Academicspartner. • More and more students bring their own device. MAC is really popular.
