Roofing, Cladding & Insulation |
London apartments rise with Kingspan Insulation
Kingspan Kooltherm K15 Rainscreen Board has
been installed as part of a new, multi-million
pound development in North London, providing
222 new affordable dwellings along with
commercial space and a new primary school.
All four blocks feature a concrete frame with
rainscreen cladding to the tower and a mixture
of brick and rainscreen cladding to the lower
blocks, and to ensure excellent building fabric
performance, Gypcraft installed 60 and 100mm
thick Kingspan Kooltherm K15 Rainscreen Board
within a steel frame infill system. The premium
NVELOPE provides the right support
to Sterte Court
NVELOPE cladding support systems
have been installed on Sterte Court, a
development of high rise and low rise
flats in Poole, which has received a
facelift that has not only improved the
visual appearance and sustainable
factors, but also extended the buildings’
life for at least 30 years.
Poole Housing Partnership appointed
Keepmoat as the main contractor for this £6.7m project, and when it
came to focussing the attention on the new façade, NVELOPE’s NV1
cladding support system was specified to hold the vertical cladding in
place, and fitted by Kent-based façade installer, Teiko Ltd.
A key requirement for this project was to reduce the thermal bridging.
NVELOPE’s N1 brackets are pre-assembled with thermal isolators which
help reduce thermal bridging and also prevent a chemical reaction
which could occur between the aluminium bracket and the lime in a
concrete frame.
Rolling out the barrel saves a week of
labour!
Using an innovative
solution to create a
barrel roof has
enabled a roofing
contractor to
complete the job faster, and better, and the building occupier to open
its doors sooner. Wilmslow Garden Centre was totally destroyed by a
fire, and speed was of the essence to ensure the new Centre could
open in time for one of its busiest periods - Christmas.
Contractor Richmond Roofing turned to expertise from Protan to meet
the objective of creating a thermally-efficient barrelled roof. On advice
from Protan, Richmond opted for 2,500m2 Protan SE 1.2mm, delivered to
site prefabricated, for rapid laying over the metal deck, vapour control
layer and insulation board.
Protan’s prefabricated system uses Protan single ply membrane, which
has been developed to withstand the harshest weather conditions, and
is proven to perform for 30 years. The membrane is factory-welded to
order, with Protan’s in-house Proplan software calculating the most
efficient usage of material to minimise waste.
performance insulation can achieve thermal
conductivities as low as 0.020 W/m.K and was
the first insulation board to achieve LABC
system approval for use as a thermal insulation
layer in rainscreen cladding systems, helping to
streamline the checking and approvals process.
Kingspan Kooltherm K15 Rainscreen Board has
been assigned a highest possible BREEAM Green
Guide summary of A+ and is certified ‘Very
Good’ under the demanding BES 6001:
Responsible Sourcing of Construction Products
standard.
Cembrit get a high five from the BBA
Cembrit has the distinction of
having its complete range fully
accredited by the BBA (British Board
of Agrément), holding five BBA
Certificates for its fibre cement
slate range.
The Cembrit range of fibre cement
slates includes Westerland, Moorland, Zeeland, Jutland and Diamond, all
offering their own unique appearance. The slates are ideal for use on
conventional pitched timber roofs with a rafter pitch of 20° and over, or
hung vertically as cladding on external walls. The slates are
complemented by matching fibre cement ridges, ventilation solutions,
and fixings.
Manufactured to the highest European standards using Portland cement
together with a formulation of superior blended synthetic and cellulose
fibres, Cembrit fibre cement slates are finished with a high quality, semimatt
acrylic coloured coating to the face and edges and a tinted, high
performance binder to the back face. Cembrit fibre cement slates are the
Kingspan Koolduct ® helps revitalise
university library
The University of Hull has opened a new
chapter for its main library with a multimillion
pound redevelopment, providing a
light, modern facility which is supported
with premium products such as The
Kingspan KoolDuct® System
The product features a premium
performance insulation core, allowing it to
achieve very low thermal conductivities, and
can also be used to produce ductwork with
minimal air-leakage, leading to considerable energy savings over time
through reduced fan energy usage.
The premium performance insulation core of The Kingspan KoolDuct®
System is manufactured with a blowing agent that has zero Ozone
Depletion Potential (ODP) and low Global Warming Potential (GWP).
The product is also listed as a Class 1 Air Duct, to Standard for Safety
UL 181 (Underwriters Laboratories: Factory Made Air Ducts & Air
Connectors), when fabricated to a specification clearly defined by UL.
