ADDITIONAL EVENTS
The Air Force SBIR/STTR Program Office participated
in a variety of additional outreach and training efforts,
including:
Alliance Northwest
5 March | Puyallup, Washington
As the largest business-to-government conference in the
Pacific Northwest, the event was designed to educate
and develop relationships between small business
owners and government agencies, including SBIR/STTR
program offices.
HUBZone Small Business Summit
22 April | San Francisco, California
This was a free, one-day networking education event for
HUBZone and other small businesses, featuring matchmaking
with dozens of government agencies and prime
contractors.
Wright Dialogue with Industry (WDI)
21-23 July | Dayton, Ohio
This three day event comprised presentations, panels,
and breakout sessions related to the Air Force science
and technology focus areas and aerospace R&D.
Government, Industry and Academia stakeholders
exchanged information and formed collaborations to
address current and future Air Force and aerospace
challenges.
Briefing for Industry (BFI)
17-19 August | Albuquerque, New Mexico
The BFI brings together the Air Force Research
Laboratory (AFRL), Space and Missile Systems
Center (SMC) and most of the federal government
organizations in New Mexico for a comprehensive
review of new business opportunities for the coming
year. It also offers a first class opportunity to meet with
industry and government customers face-to-face.
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers
6-8 November | Detroit, Michigan
This annual event was designed to provide opportunities
for engineering companies and corporations to meet
with SHPE members and to provide educational,
technical and career opportunities for professional and
student engineers.
National SBIR/STTR Fall Conference
11-13 November | Austin, Texas
This conference taught participants how to compete
for funding in SBIR/STTR programs
that encourage small businesses
to engage in federal research/
research and development and
to commercialize technological
innovations.
