Newcastle College Gateway Centre is a portal for<br />
information that faces both the city and the campus.<br />
The five storey building was designed as a 100% flexible<br />
framework to allow for total change and flexibility.<br />
This was achieved by creating column free space and<br />
“intelligent floor” systems that allowed for any activity to<br />
take place in any part of the building.<br />
The building was clad in an “information media<br />
façade” via harvested solar energy – revealing the<br />
dense array of knowledge housed within<br />
the Gateway Centre.<br />
